Es gibt Projekt-Definitionen – beispielsweise in der DIN 69901 oder in der ISO 21500 – doch ist ein Projekt auch ein Gemisch verschiedener Perspektiven. Die Abbildung zeigt, wie vielfältig diese Perspektiven/Images auf/von ein(em) Projekt sein können. Winter und Szczepanek haben die Idee, das Grundkonzept von Images of Projects folgendermaßen zusammengefasst:
„We too believe that some of the fundamental problems faced by practitioners stem from the mismatch between the complexity of real-world situations and how they are thought about by the people involved. And like Gareth Morgan, we too believe that we are active in constructing our worlds; and that we can, over time, learn to become more reflective and more proactive in the way we think about these situations, particularly in the world of projects where this kind of thinking is a crucial craft skill“ (ebd.).
Daraus ergeben sich natürlich sehr unterschiedliche Anforderungen an ein angemessenes Projektmanagement.
